           ok3anos / The Electronic Knights (c) 2022-2024

Welcome to the second issue of { * Knight Chips * $} As usual, we will first start with some instructions... ...Use < left or right > arrows to select songs... Wait 3 seconds and the song will be played. You can play next song by pressing F1. Autoplay % is enabled by default so that you have nothing to do but relax and listen to the whole playlist but if you particularly like a song and want it to be played on loop, you can press F2 to enable/disable the autoplay option... Now, I (ok3anos) would like to thank all the people involved in the making of this musicdisk. First of all, the musicians: & Adkd & Tecon & Hyperunknown & Chavez & Curt Cool & Josss & Synesthesia & SoDa7 & Slash & Bifat. I'd like also to thank Slash for helping me in organising and collecting the songs, Bifat for his unweavering support and for the bass detection algorithm and the whole T.E.K team, including Krill/Plush for the great support and ideas, and last but not least, Jade who did an awesome work on the graphics and design of the interface and who is always full of good ideas. It's a real pleasure to work with all of you guys. Finally we have finished this second issue of Knight Chips but there's still room for improvements. Now that we have a nice working engine and interface, we expect to release more chip packs in the future. So... If you want to be part of the adventure for the next issue, feel free to send me your best tunes at okeanos.music@gmail.com $ Hey, it's Jade on the keys. Firstly, a big thank you to all the musicians who have contributed to *Knight Chips 2*, to the T.E.K. team for giving me the chance to work on this Knight Chips issue. Thanks to Okeanos for not giving up to realise my ideas and to Bifat for his endless feedback and additional ideas. Krill for his answers and feedback as well. I want to talk a little bit about the creation of the new *Knight Chips* interface graphics. It was around April/May 2023, when we were talking about a new edition of *Knight Chips*. I immediately started working on the first drafts of the new design, which were already in my head. But I'm glad we didn't, because real life is like a bloodsucking beast and has put the new *Knight Chips* on hold. Back in mid-August 2023, we talked again about the continuation of the adventure for a new *Knight Chips* and the design of it. I started collecting images and ideas on Pinterest and other sources, and started again to create a rough mockup layout for the new design. Surprisingly, everyone was very satisfied and liked it. Once we had all agreed on the new look, I started to create a real and final pixel art interface. The entire design and modification process took some time, even with interruptions due to real life. Knight Chips was on hold again. In the meantime, we had developed the ideas for the Christmas cards and the greetings cards for the New Year. At this time, Bifat started joking about whether we could one day finish Knight Chips. I told him that one of my New Year's resolutions would be to finish the gfx. Shortly after the new year started, Okeanos and I put our heads together to continue working on Knight Chips. I finalised the design, made changes and so on. In the end we had a good looking interface and something quite new for a Chiptune Disk. We had the Equalizer, which is the key element of this design, and the moving bass cone, but I still felt it could be livelier. So I started to create a few small animations for the reels and cassette tape. These were my first pixel animations after a long time. Nothing exciting, but it did the job. In the end I was pretty happy with everything. We're sorry, Krill, that we weren't able to animate the reels at different speeds at the end. Maybe next time, mate! I hope everyone out there likes the result. We at TEK really like it! At last! The greetings! Greetings to everyone who knows me in the Atari, Amiga and all other scenes and maybe doesn't know me. I'm pretty bad at writing greetings because I always have the feeling that I might forget someone. The reason why I choose this type of greetings. Hugs to you my friends! hello there! this is chavez. Here's my contribution for this super hot t.e.k. release packed with amazing arpeggios and soothing squarewaves! the song name translates to baturday - nothing to do with bats - obviously started on a saturday! * thanks to tempest for helping out and t.e.k for the invite! * * * chavez signing out (& hoping to release more chiptunes this year! :) Josss whistling now some thank you notes... greetings to all the knights involved in this chipdisk! Thanks also to those fun-companions with whom I have had the chance to share some chats... tempest, mygg, bonefish, ok3anos, ma2e, Virgill, Ozan, seffren, ps, lordcoxis, liqube, and many others!!!! Also big abrazos to all currently active (really?) members of the Spanish demoescena. Producid malditos!!! ...heyooo hyperunknown of noice on the keys... with my song (Goatmilk) i tried to go back to the keygen style of chipmusic... also had a blast in the tracker filling every up every pattern - literally... i would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who is still coding, making graphics and composing music on the amiga and pc scene, keeping the demoscene alive, you are the people i always looked up to even since i was a kid... keep calm and MOV AX... adkd here. first of all, my gratitude and respects for the amount of awe-inspiring work done by all involved for making this product a reality. I especially noticed how ok3anos, jade and bifat spent countless hours fine-tuning the details of this prod. a few words about my tracks. umbrella of key manifested over 30 years ago and went through many mutations before arriving in its final state. epic came about in just one day, heavily inspired by game music. Hello slash on the keys - welcome to my scroll. It has been a year since last knight chips and much has happened since - ADKD and JADE have joined T.E.K - warm welcome guys and have a nice stay! You can also see and hear them in this production. We have got some new contributors to Knight Chips, also big welcome to you. Personally it has been a different year out of the blue i met a girlfriend and life has just changed - i must say i am much happier in life now. Now a little about my song- it was started as a wip last summer and finalised in January - originally it sounded a bit different but I managed to tweak it together at last. Finally I wish to thank everyone involved in this project - it's really fun to be a part of it. See you in another issue... signing off. Curt Cool (me) is happy to be in this production and be allowed to share this slightly oldish tune made for other purposes (no, not an oldschool bbstro) back in 2020. Sorry to put myself in thirdperson though, I'm really not THAT important. I would like to send some friendly greetings to the other members of Nah-Kolor and Depth, the friendly Demostue people (that's Presence, Psycho, Blueberry, Airf.. FairArt, Folcka, Corial, CyberBrain, Revival, Punqtured and possibly some others). Also greets to everyone behind Jurassic Pack 20, especially Novel & Ghandy. And of course Okeanos, for letting me be in here. Greets to everyone at GERP as well, I hope you are having an excellent time. I do expect you all to make snow angels naked outside for the wild compo though. You know, just to freshen up. But remember to film it. No less will do, sorry. Oh, and try to spot the one minor chord in this tune, it's feeling pretty lonely in there and has been asking me to be allowed to leave this tune for one in which more of its friends is around. Also, I encourage everyone to share whatever personal demo collections they might have from times of old, so that any forgotten scene productions may be preserved. See you at Revision for more Amiga mayhem (well, I bought a plane ticket anyway), all the best for 2024 - Curt! [BIFAT]: hey look, I'm on TV! uhm oh, so I am supposed to write something. I am deeply impressed by the works of all the great chiptune artists on this pack. since I'm not the typical fan of chippy tunes, I thought I should contribute to this issue, and balance it with the odd one out. so that the crazy melodies, blip-blops and arpeggio shredding can shine even more! I searched for a short one and took the most monotonous and simple one, from circa 1997, and just slightly remixed it. some kind of kraftwerk appreciation I suppose. thanks for listening.
